Our cattle herd is mainly Hereford cattle but we have been crossbreeding some with Angus and Shorthorn. We have a 70-90 cow herd whose bull calves are raised for meat and heifer calves are added to the herd or raised for meat. We also buy feeder calves to raise. We haul our animals to A & M Processing in Hamburg for butchering and sell to local customers. (See for sale) We use no unnecessary antibiotics or growth hormones.
We raise somewhere around 70 laying hens for eggs and 100-150 broiler chickens for meat. The broilers are USDA inspected and processed at Dennison Meat Locker.
Raising pork is a year by year decision.
We also have an endless supply of kittens. They are all very friendly and love dogs since the chances are they've been raised by our two labs.
